Field workers in eastern Congo
In the villages of South Kivu, victims of sexual violence and gender inequality can turn to one of our 13 staffed reception centres spread across the province of South Kivu. These are staffed by around 30 field workers. These field workers are our eyes and ears on the ground.

In East Congo, Mamas for Africa is a lifeline for survivors of sexual violence. We provide shelter, medical care, and psychological support. We cover hospital costs when needed, and we stand by these women with care, prevention, mediation, and awareness-raising. For many, we are their only hope.
