'I lay bleeding in the bushes, my baby screeching beside me.'

What happened that day:

'I was on my way to the market with my two-month-old baby,' says eighteen-year-old Claire. 'Along the side of the road was a group of armed men. I walked past them, but they dragged me into the woods. They raped me one by one, while my baby lay screaming on the ground. Bleeding, I stumbled back to my village. A neighbor brought me to Mamas for Africa. That saved my life.'

'At Mamas for Africa, Eulalie was ready to help me. She took me to the hospital and stayed by my side. I still see her weekly. Thanks to her, I feel stronger than ever.'
