‘About a year ago, I was raped like many other women in my village,’ says Ngizire (39) 'Not once but six times, each time by a different soldier. I was distraught. I let them have their way because I feared for my life Yet my children need their mother.'
'After the rape, I was desperate. I got medical care at Mamas for Africa and joined one of their women's groups. In this group, I talk about what happened to me with other women who went through the same thing.'
I now also give advice to other survivors. Once again, I have a goal in life. Let's make each other stronger.'
