title: Mother of a war baby
description: "Since the conflict reignited in early 2025, sexual violence has skyrocketed. Even girls are not spared. And unfortunately, with all the consequences that entails.

Joseanne is 13 years old. She was raped and became pregnant. She didn't know where to go. She realised far too late that she was pregnant. Fortunately, we tracked her down just in time through our local reception centre. Thanks to Mamas for Africa, she was able to go to hospital. Without medical help, she could have been in serious trouble. So young, and already pregnant."
